I. Introduction

This system consists of wind-gathering-ring wind turbine, controller, inverter, storage battery, submersible pump and water tank.

This system converts wind energy into electricity, which can be used to drive the pump directly. And the surplus electricity can be stored into the storage batteries for later use or for other purpose such as lighting. When wind speed is not available or small, the pump can be powered by the electricity stored in the batteries. When the water level reaches the set storage capacity, the pump will stop running automatically.

The wind turbine is equipped with a protection device, which can shut down the system automatically or manually to protect both equipment and people when failures happen or destructive meteorological condition such as typhoon.

High utilization efficiency, around-the-clock running, occupying small area and space, simple installation, high performance-price ratio.

Horizontal-axis wind turbine with wind-gathering ring, principle of dynamics, low start-up wind speed, stable and reliable performance, high efficiency, power output nearly 2 to 3 times that of same-power wind turbine.

2.2  Daily Water Output

The daily water output of the system is about 720m3. The system can pump water of about 30m3 per hour, and the max. head of the pump is 50m.

If the storage batteries are fully charged, the system can work for another 2 to 3 hours. The system starts up the pump not at a fixed/regular time. If generated energy is more than consumption, then the surplus electricity will be stored into the storage batteries. The controller will not charge when the batteries are fully charged.

Suppose that the annual average wind speed of the installation site is 6m/s to 9m/s, the generated energy and water output are as follows:
